Description
This surface-mounted flow plate controls one-way traffic in car parks, industrial estates, and other private sites. Vehicles can drive over it in the permitted direction, while its raised flap blocks anyone trying to enter or leave the wrong way.
When a vehicle travels in the right direction, the heavy-duty steel flap folds down under its wheels, then springs straight back up once it has passed. The mechanism is simple and requires very little maintenance.
Each plate is 360mm wide, so several are laid side by side to cover a full lane. As a rough guide, a standard 3m lane needs around eight to nine plates. Made from 10mm galvanised steel with a bright yellow coating, the plates resist corrosion and are easy for drivers and pedestrians to see. They bolt onto the surface, so there's no need to dig.
Flow plates aren't suitable for HGVs and require vehicles to have at least 150mm of ground clearance. For safety, we recommend installing them alongside speed ramps to slow approaching traffic, with clear warning signs on both sides.
