Wooden bollards are typically installed permanently, usually by concreting the base into the ground. Key considerations include:

Ground Conditions: In soft or waterlogged soil, a deeper or wider foundation may be needed to keep the post upright.
Drainage: Water must be able to drain away from the base, as standing moisture can reduce the timber’s lifespan.
Underground Services: We will conduct a cable avoidance (CAT) scan before digging to locate any pipes or wiring.
Bollard Spacing: Bollards must be spaced closely enough to prevent vehicles from passing through, while still allowing room for pedestrians and wheelchair users.
