Also known as fold down or retractable bollards, Bison’s telescopic security posts are an easy-to-use and cost-effective driveway security measure. These security bollards are lowered into the ground manually, but then can be locked in place to protect parked cars and prevent unauthorised vehicular access.
If you are worried about the potential lifting weight of larger telescopic bollards, we also supply lift-assisted bollards. The lift assist reduces the operating weight by 70%, making it far easier to raise and lower the bollard by hand.

Additional Considerations
If you have a high water table, you will need to think carefully before purchasing a telescopic bollard for two reasons:
- It may make it difficult for you to lift your bollard out of the ground.
- High water table levels can cause metal bollards to rust prematurely.
Equally, if there are restrictions on how deep you can dig (e.g. there are pipes or wiring under your driveway), you will also need to account for this. Both of these potential problems will be avoided with removable bollards as they require a far shallower foundation.
